Mille Johansson drove Rally Nova Gorica in the Slovenian Rally Championship this weekend. The race was a run-through for the final of the Junior ERC in Hungary in two weeks, and the first test with the new Opel Corsa Rally4.

The rally, which Mille led last year when competing in the championship, ended with second place in the Rally4 class.

– The rally was a good test for Hungary with both rain, drying and dry weather. We have tested different tires from Hankook, and feel more ready for the next event. Unfortunately we got two punctures, which meant we couldn’t drive for victory, but that wasn’t the goal of the weekend anyway, says Mille who this weekend had Danish Ditte Kammersgaard as map reader.

During the rally, which was an evaluation of the new car along with the team IKsport, Mille and Ditte took a total of five stage victories in the class with 27 starting crews.

– It felt good in the new car, we tested different things and found improvements all the time while I got into the car more and more. At the end I felt at home, and am happy with the speed we had.

Now awaits the final of the Junior ERC, which will be decided in Hungary on October 7-8. Mille and regular co-driver Johan Grönvall are 10th in the championship after a tough season with many problems.

– The next competition in Hungary will be exciting, a tough event with varying surfaces and changing road characteristics all the time. But it will be fun to drive there, and to end the season on a high, concludes Mille.
