This weekend, the third round of the Junior ERC will be decided in Sweden. For Mille Johansson his co-driver Johan Grönvall from the Värmland region, one of the highlights of the year now awaits.
Royal Rally of Scandinavia builds on the more than 50-year legacy of Rally Sweden in the region. When the European elite now take on the classic stages during summer time.
– It’s great that we got a big rally here in Sweden on gravel as well, and it will be really fun to feel the atmosphere with all the Swedish supporters and fans out on the stages, says Mille.
Mille and Johan compete in the Junior ERC with a two-wheel drive Ford Fiesta Rally4 from the Slovenian team IKsport. They come to Sweden after two tough events in Poland and Latvia, where they were drawn with technical problems and punctures. Now they hope that their ERC-season will turn around at home.
– Now we hope for revenge after two tough rallies with several setbacks. So this weekend I hope it goes much better, so we can show what we can do when we have the luck with us, says Johan.
The rally starts on Friday with eight stages, and another seven are to be run on Saturday before the event is decided. Big audiences from all over the world are expected to come to Värmland to follow the rally, and not least a large number of supporters and partners of Mille and Johan.
– It is incredible that we have supporters and sponsors on site who follow the rally live, without them we are nothing and this is our way of giving back, continues Mille.
The Royal Rally of Scandinavia ends on Saturday with the classic stage Colins Crest, and the spectacular jump that have put Sweden on the rally map all over the world.
– It will be fun to drive in Sweden again, the roads here differ quite a lot from how it looks abroad. I’m also looking forward to flying over Colins Crest and fighting for the top positions, concludes Mille.
